Castaner Espadrilles - a style for every day of summer
Posted on May 06 2020
This summer we have 31 different styles, heights and colours of Castaner's legendary espadrilles in stock, including an exclusive Castaner colourway, the Tostado in suede - only available at My Fashion Tribu this season. In today's blog we will talk through the different wedge heights and toe shapes to help you choose the perfect Castaner espadrille for your summer wardrobe.
Castaner Wedge Espadrille Heel Heights
Our lowest wedge espadrilles is the 60mm, perfect for walking all day and dancing all night, it is low enough for all-day wear, yet high enough to give a little leg-lengthening effect! We have this height in a range of pastels, whites and blacks.
The 80mm height is still super comfortable, just offering a little more height, great for evenings out or occasion wear. We have the 80mm height in a wide range - from metallics to our new denim blue canvas. We also have a range of raffia rope sole colours; include natural and black.
Blue Denim 80 Wedge Espadrilles, £90
Our vertiginous 100mm sole-height style is for the fashion maven, looking for the perfect sandal to pair with mini dresses and an enviable tan. While they are high, they are still comfortable and easy to wear and walk in thanks to their platform sole.
We always suggest, if you are between sizes to go down a size. When your espadrilles arrive they should feel snug, after a few wears the natural canvas uppers and woven heel will relax, so make sure they are not too big to begin with!
The Chiara style are a wider, more generous fit to the other styles, so bear this in mind when choosing your size.
We have a range of toe shapes and styles. The Catalina and Bluma both have a frayed edge detail; while the Carina is the classic almond-toes shape that Castaner are known for and great if you want that classic, timeless look. Chiara has the same almond toe but with a wide v front for a subtly different look.
Castaner espadrilles are made using the same hand-crafted techniques that the Spanish atelier has been using since the 1927. Made from natural linen canvas and raffia soles, they can be spot cleaned but ensure they don't get wet (not suitable for wearing on rainy days!).
